COPR is a rescue organization that originally started in 2012. I personally got involved in rescue after purchasing a pomeranian from someone i thought was a "reputable breeder" in 2005. This was before i was educated on puppy mills/dog brokers, etc. My pom passed away at age 6 to a auto immune disease. During his illness i began researching the "breeder" and discovered she was a dog broker for a ohio amish puppy mill. I was inspired to raise awareness and get involved in rescue. I began by networking senior poms in kill shelters all over the country with my friend, Kit. We would reach out to rescues and make them aware of dogs in need, raise pledges to assist rescues with needed vetting, and arrange pull and transport assistance. We started a page on Facebook named "Saving Senior Poms, Inspired by Chance" to assist with building supporters for our cause. Chance was our first official save, he was in a southern CA shelter and saved from death row. We had a lot of supporters but few rescues willing to step up and help the senior dogs so i decided i couldn't sit back and watch these dogs die! I started COPR to save seniors never expecting we would grow to the point we have now. I work long hours arranging rescues, transports and insuring all needed vetting is done on each dog that we save. I answer emails, screen applications, and arrange home visits for potential adopters. I also foster, my personal favorites being fear aggressive and long term seniors. We have a wonderful group of volunteers and fosters that continues to grow all the time! I do what i do for the love of the dogs. Watching them come out of their shell and learn to trust is such a inspiration. Seeing a once fearful, abused dog in a loving forever home makes all the hard work and long hours worth every minute!

Kerry's Cats was founded in 2010 by Kerry A. Spitzenberger. We are a small, non-profit, foster home based 501(c)(3) cat rescue, that cares for, rehabilitates, and adopts out cats that have, in one way or another, been forgotten, mistreated, or left behind. Any money raised, goes directly to the care of our fosters. Kerry's Cats mission is NO MORE HOMELESS CATS in the York County, SC area. We work towards this mission on 3 fronts: 1) Working with each at risk cat in his/her present home to keep him/her at that home. This is done by assisting with veterinary care, providing food/shelter/containment/education as needed; 2) Providing low cost spay/neuter options to cat owners to reduce the population of potentially at risk pets in our designated geographic area; 3) Providing rescue and adoption options if other alternatives are not viable.

English Springer Rescue America, Inc. (ESRA) is a national referral and foster care pure-bred placement organization, and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. ESRA's mission is to provide foster care to English Springers impounded by humane societies, private shelters, and animal control facilities nationwide, as well as to offer adoption referral services for those agencies. There are no paid staff, and all our members do what they do on a completely voluntary basis. English Springers are as susceptible to impoundment as any dog. They are picked up off the streets as strays or relinquished by their owners because of a move, illness or death, financial crisis, or other troubled circumstances. Adoption referral assistance is also available to those owners who can no longer care for their Springers and must give them up for adoption. Through the compassionate efforts and commitments to help, ESRA's volunteer members have successfully placed thousands of Springers in new loving homes. To be considered for placement in ESRA's database of prospective adopting homes, click here for the adoption application. When received, and after the approval process, we will enter you in our database of homes preliminarily to adopt available dogs. These listings include dogs in shelters and foster homes, and those being relinquished by their owners. ESRA was founded March 25, 1998, by Jan Flagg, a Southern California resident. In the summer of 1998, ESRA's management were co-founders of the now-defunct English Springer Spaniel Rescue Coalition (ESSRC), which was an early coalition of independent rescue groups, out of which grew English Springer Spaniel Rescue nationwide as we know it today.

We rescue dogs from high-kill shelters in and around Southern California, and focus on larger breed dogs, as there are many small breed rescues in the area. Our goal is to match well socialized, friendly dogs with their "furever" homes, and give them a second chance at life so they can learn to understand love, compassion, and care. Once each dog is evaluated, healthy and in loving foster care, we will place them up for adoption. Pick Me Dog Rescue firmly believes that the dog picks the family and not the other way around. Our #1 goal is to find the perfect match for everyone involved.

Everglades Angels Dog Rescue

Everglades Angels Dog Rescue is a NonProfit 100% Volunteer organization to end the suffering of thousands of abandoned pet dogs, feral and breeding packs of dogs, by physical rescue & rehoming. Our mission is to end the suffering of thousands of abandoned pet, feral and breeding packs of dogs, by physical rescue, from rural and remote areas of Florida. Our goal is to treat the rescued dogs medically, including sterilization and microchip identification. Also, to provide psychological training and placement in qualified homes. The rescue dogs homing procedure encompass's verification by home check of adopter, vet treatment verification of current pets, and in person interview, as well as meeting between future adopter and the rescue dog. Also, to verify current pets in the home will be compatible, prior to finalization of adoption. Adoption of a healthy well adjusted dog is vital to our mission in preventing future abandonment. The current battle to decrease the ever growing abandonment of pets and proliferation of breeding packs is an immense project. These dogs numbers are multiplying by thousands weekly. We are dedicated to creating innovative projects and attending events to fund our mission. Educating the public by circulating written information, visiting community centers and speaking with locals in remote areas of Florida. To bring awareness of the tragedy of abandonment, for the day of dumping, onset of starvation and dehydration, infestation by parasites, torture of biting mosquitoes, ticks and snakes and death by ingestion, by other wildlife or reptiles. Our organization is unique because our dedication is to the truly in need, with no shelter, food and basic chance of survival. We seek out the tortured, sick and debilitated dogs, in the most remote areas of Florida, to end suffering and proliferation of dogs, not indigenous to these areas.

K-9 Angels Rescue is an all-breed, non-profit, canine rescue organization established in February 2012. Many of our core volunteers bring along years of experience from serving other Houston rescue groups. Since Feb 2012 we have found homes for over 2300 dogs (as of December, 2015). Our volunteers are compassionate, companion animal welfare advocates dedicated to contributing their time, skills, finances, and experience. In turn, their dedication helps save the lives of the abandoned, abused, homeless, neglected, orphaned, rejected, stray, and surrendered dogs in Houston's animal control facilities. We are committed to rescuing and re-homing these dogs regardless of their breed or circumstance. We are motivated by the dire need to educate the public about the effects of irresponsible breeding practices, while helping the community by alleviating overcrowding in area shelters. K-9 Angels Rescue Board Members and Volunteers are 100% VOLUNTEER and receive NO compensation. We are not a shelter in the sense that we are not positioned to accept dogs from the public. We personally select our dogs from the greater Houston animal control facilities where all dogs are subject to destruction because their "crime" is not having a home. A dog selected into our rescue program remains in our care until adopted. Only when we are able to secure the best match between dog and new caregiver(s) is the dog released from our program. We believe in foster homes. A foster home provides the dog with a loving, safe environment and allows for behavioral observation and training. When a foster family is not available our dogs are kenneled until transported to our Adoption Center on Saturday morning.
