We are a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers. We are trying to help our local shelter reduce the number of pets that are needlessly euthanized by taking in primarily the ones that are too young or too sick for adoption or need socialization. We do it because we love animals and want to help save as many lives as possible.

I have been running this rescue since 2007 after first starting out as a volunteer foster home in 2006. I do it because I loved my first Jack very much, considered him to be irreplaceable when he died, and decided to pay it forward to the breed as a whole by volunteering for JRT rescue. The lady who originally ran the group burned out and retired, and I rebuilt it from covering one state (Oregon) and having 2 volunteers to the point where we have placed over 400 dogs in new lifetime homes and have a whopping dozen volunteers and a very active and involved adopter support base. I am semi-retired, live in the country and have worked with dogs and horses since I was a kid. I love Jacks.

Ohio House Rabbit Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated rescuing and adopting indoor pet rabbits. Our mission is to establish and operate a Center for rescued abandoned pet rabbits, offer a robust adoption program and provide educational resources and programming on the proper care of rabbits as indoor companions. OHRR envisions a community where all pet rabbits live indoors as companions and have access to a proper diet, habitat, and regular veterinary care for the duration of their life. OHRR was founded in 2009 by longtime rabbit owner, Beverly May. After realizing that over 900 rabbits were offered for surrender each year in Central Ohio alone, Beverly decided that Ohio needed a rescue and adoption center for rabbits. OHRR began with an extensive network of foster homes in order to begin rescuing rabbits and to build community support. In 2013, OHRR opened the Ohio House Rabbit Adoption Center, which is the first rescue and adoption center in Ohio that is exclusively for rabbits. In 2013, we founds homes for over 70 bunnies. In addition to our adoptions program, OHRR hosts Midwest BunFest, the largest rabbit-related exposition in the Eastern United States. BunFest includes shopping from various small animal supply vendors, the Bunny Spa with nail trips and grooming, Bunny Glamour Shots pet photography, a chance to interact with rabbit rescues across the Midwest, and also has over 10 education sessions from nationally recognized veterinarians and certified rabbit educators. In 2012, OHRR developed the Fix-a-Bun (FAB) Low-Cost Spay/Neuter program that provides assistance in paying for spay/neuter surgery for rabbits in Ohio, and the program has helped many families pay for spay/neuter surgery. Further, OHRR attends adoption events at local pet supply stores on an ongoing basis and hosts community fundraisers quarterly. OHRR also provides email and telephone support to rabbit owners across Ohio and in other states.

Picture PAWS Humane Society was founded by dedicated animal rescue volunteers in order to be able to provide a loving environment and all of the proper veterinary care for the highly adoptable animals in local shelters that otherwise would not have received the opportunity to continue their lives. We feel that education and providing information about resources available to pet owners will help prevent the overpopulation that the shelters of Bell County and surrounding areas experience. We are a non-profit group who is completely volunteer and works off donations provided by the public. We are not government funded. We have no physical shelter location and all of our animals are placed in fosters until their time for permanent adoption comes.

Rogers' Rescues is an all-breed dog rescue that relies on our network of foster homes to care for all our adoptable dogs. In addition, committed volunteers work behind the scenes to facilitate the adoption process, plan fundraising events, and more.<p> Despite not having a physical location, Rogers’ Rescues has found loving homes for over a thousand dogs since its founding in June, 2002.<p> All our fosters are up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative, and are spayed or neutered. Puppies under six months are not spayed or neutered and it is the responsibility of the adopter to have the dog altered at six months of age. Mission To improve the quality of life for companion animals, to place homeless cats and dogs in suitable homes, and to provide programs to reduce the overpopulation and euthanasia of companion animals. Company Overview We shelter and care for homeless animals in the Richland-Wilkin county area with hopes of finding them new homes through foster care or adoption.

Our organization started because we have had a boarding kennel since 2001. Over the years we have helped rehome dogs at different times, but nothing concrete. This year I really just felt the need to start doing more & it has totally taken off. We've adopted out over 20 dogs (of all breeds, sizes, ages) since February. I love doing this, it is the most rewarding thing I've ever done, and I know I will be rescuing forever.

Underdog Rescue and Placement was founded in 2000 by Shannon McKenzie. Having volunteered for several other animal rescue organizations, Shannon saw a need to help the dogs and cats often overlooked by other rescuers, the “Underdogs” Our very first rescues included a pair of black kittens named Fenway & Wrigley, a pitbull puppy named Lucy and a tiny Toy Poodle named Lily (who was suffering from a head injury). No other rescue groups would take Fenway or Wrigley because black kittens are often overlooked by potential adopters, and, up until the time we rescued Lucy, rescue groups had not been allowed to rescue any dog considered to be a “Pit Bull” from Minneapolis Animal Control. While in law school, Shannon McKenzie had the “anti-pitbull” policy changed, with the assistance of Attorney, Marshall Tannick. Underdog Rescue continues to successfully rescue and place pitbulls and other “bully-breeds” through a continued partnership with Minneapolis Animal Control. Shannon’s dedication to the Underdog also extends to puppy mill survivors. Dogs that survive life in a puppy mill often come with a different set of challenges. They may require additional medical care, socialization and teaching of basic dog skills even though some may be adults. Our volunteers understand this and welcome these pets into their homes to show them what life as a dog and life with kind humans is like.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Our agency has over 50 years of combined experience volunteering with rescues and shelters and we have excellent resources for helping dogs to find their best home yet and their last home -- forever! There is no better reward than a dog meeting his new family for the first time and knowing he has at last found a real home. When we receive pictures of him months later with a relaxed face or having fun...that's motivation to keep doing what we love...we're selfish that way!

Sammy's Hope Animal Welfare & Adoption Center is privately-operated animal shelter, staffed and supported by volunteers, that helps care for and find Forever Homes for homeless animals. We work with local NJ municipal animal shelters to help alleviate their overcrowding and find homeless pets their Forever Families.

Great River Rescue is a 501 (c)(3) private nonprofit organization founded in 1977. We are a no-kill animal shelter which rescues stray and unwanted companion animals. We provide quality care for those animals until a suitable home can be found. All animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Our goal is to reduce pet overpopulation and thereby end needless euthanasia. Our mission is to serve the best interest of the animals we strive to protect.

We provide shelter for animals who are lost, abandoned or are given up by families no longer able to care for them. We offer a second chance to adoptable animals and place them in loving, permanent homes.

Old Dominion Humane Society is here to provide well-matched permanent homes for animals in need through rescue, rehabilitation, and education.

Husky House is committed to the rescue, shelter, care and adoption of stray, abandoned and unwanted animals in the Tri-State area. We are also dedicated to futhering the public's education concerning the issues of proper pet care and the importance of spaying and neutering all dogs and cats alike. Husky House is a non-profit, tax exempt organization (501c3) that was founded by Lorraine Healy. Husky House is dedicated to helping abandoned Siberian Huskies as well as all breeds of dogs, including mixes, have a second chance in life and a place to call home which they so richly deserve.

We are a small group of seasoned rescuers/fosters/shelter volunteers whose mission it is to save as many animals, as we possibly can, from being euthanized in local kill shelters. We, also,offer services to assist with behavioral issues and strive to educate the public on ways THEY can help fight the animal overpopulation crisis in our area!

We are dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.
