Franklin County Humane Society was founded in 1977 and has provided spay neuter, rescue and adoption help for the animals in our community for 40 years. During the early years volunteers fostered animals in their homes as we did not have a facility. At the same time the Humane Society tried to improve conditions for the animals at the County Animal Control pound in order to stop the killing of 90% of the animals taken to the pound each year. We did not have the funds to open our own shelter and our requests that the County hire a shelter manager and our offers to manage the pound were turned down multiple times. In 1999 we decided to raise funds to open a low cost spay neuter clinic as spay neuter is the most effective way to reduce the numbers of animals that end up abandoned at shelters and pounds each year. We opened our Planned Pethood Clinic in July 2000 in a rented building and were the second spay neuter clinic to open in the state. In 2003 we bought a house and land on Route 220 and moved the Clinic there. We continued to press for improvements at the County pound but in 2006 the County Board of Supervisors turned down our offer to manage the pound once again and announced they would rely on volunteers rather than hire a Manager. We realized that we needed to be the organization to help the animals going to the pound and we announced plans to raise funds for a no kill shelter. In 2007 we opened our Purrfect Treasures fundraising store and completed our campaign to raise funds to build the Adoption Center by the end of that year. The Adoption Center opened in April 2009. The numbers of animals that the Humane Society takes in each year has increased steadily while the numbers taken in by the pound has decreased. The Humane Society’s adoption, rescue and spay neuter programs and the cooperation between the Humane Society and the County pound staff has reduced the kill rate at the pound. The Humane Society now takes in 80% of the animals in need in our community and provided care for 2,420 animals at the Adoption Center last year. This is a complete reversal from the days when 90% of the animals taken to the County pound were killed. This is how vital the Humane Society is for the animals in our community. Though our programs have reduced the kill rate at the County pound down to 23% (204 animals) that is not good enough. The majority of animals killed at the County pound last year are outside cats and we have been working on programs to help outside cats and are providing free spay neuter for the pets of qualified residents. This month we are celebrating #FCHS Rocks: 40 Years Strong. Our Planned Pethood Clinic has provided over 55,000 spay neuters and our Adoption Center has provided care for over 15,000 animals in need. The Humane Society does not receive any government funding and relies on donations, grants and fundraisers to provide services.

Our animals do not live in kennels. They are treated as family pets so that they can socialize and become well-mannered. They will only be placed in homes where they will be accepted as part of the adopting family. If you are looking for a gift or a guard dog, you don't want to talk to us. Our critters come from many sources: animal shelters state-wide; private homes where the animal's companion has become hospitalized, institutionalized, or has died; and actual rescues from dangerous or abusive situations.

ARF of MS is a no-kill, guaranty adoption organization. When we rescue, we make a commitment to always be there for the life of animal. Here is where we are different from other organizations; we believe all animals deserve a chance, not just the cute fluffy ones. Therefore, we have a building full of dogs and cats who are all worthy, loving and waiting patiently for someone to come along and look into the eyes and give them a chance. Many of our long term residents have found a home after years of waiting.

Rabbit Advocates is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose volunteers specialize in educating the public about the care of domestic rabbits. We aim to place surrendered or abandoned rabbits in loving homes where they will be welcomed as family members. Formerly a part of the Oregon Humane Society, in 2002 we created a group solely devoted to promoting the welfare of domestic rabbits. The Rabbit Advocates operate an education and adoption website as well as a help line. We hold rabbit adoption outreach events and other activities at locations around the Portland Metro Area and hold monthly meetings.

Fat Cat Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer based-, nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the feral and stray cat population by partnering with trap-neuter-return programs and by finding homes for adoptable cats and kittens. Our focus is on cats, but we help any homeless, injured, or abused animal that we encounter. Fat Cat Rescue, Inc. partners with trap-neuter-return groups to address the issue and needs of feral cat populations in Lake County, IL. Our priorities are to: Trap and transport cats to established TNR programs, return feral cats to their colonies, and provide food and winter shelters to caretakers. Care for feral cat colonies that do not have caregivers and for cats whose caregivers have moved, lost their homes, or have passed away; Arrange for foster care for socializing feral kittens and adoptable cats, with the goal of finding them permanent homes; Relocate feral cats in dangerous situations to safe areas. Assist any animal in an emergency situation or with a life-threatening medical condition and, if needed, contact an appropriate rescue group.

The Mission of One Love Animal Rescue is to rescue homeless animals, nurture them through foster care, and place them in permanent loving homes. We are passionate animal advocates who value the lives of these disadvantaged animals and recognize their enormous potential to be transformed into healthy and happy family pets. One Love promotes responsible pet ownership and encourages others in our community to be kind to all animals, to reduce pet overpopulation, and join us in our mission to improve the outcomes of homeless animals.

Rural Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization whose mission is to save the lives of dogs and cats in high-kill shelters in rural areas with euthanasia rates of 80% or higher. Mission Statement: Forever true to The Underdog, Rural Dog Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in shelters who are often overlooked for adoption or rescue. We save the dogs who are at most risk of being euthanized: the hounds, the black dogs, the seniors, the sick and the broken. We make a commitment to reserve a minimum of 50% of the dogs we save to The Underdog. Root For The Underdog! Rural Dog Rescue's home base is in Washington, DC. We support several high kill shelters that euthanize in 72 hours and whose kill rate is 70% or higher in rural areas of Virginia, West Virginia, North and South Carolina. Rural Dog Rescue also helps dogs in need in Washington, DC and Maryland. We are 100% volunteer and foster based and no salaries are paid. 100% of your donation and adoption fee goes to helping the dogs and cats of Rural Dog Rescue.

Tabby Town is a cat cooperative that partners with area shelters and the general public to provide cats with food, warmth, love and the medical care they require during their stay in their "home between homes". All of our cats and kittens are shelter rescues or community surrenders and our goal is to increase the number of cats and kittens adopted while decreasing the number of cats sitting in over-crowded shelters.

Jessamine County Animal Care & Control Department is established by Jessamine County Fiscal Court in accordance with the Kentucky Revised Statutes. Its mission is to provide services which safeguard the public health and safety, to humanely house and care for animals in its charge, to protect the animals of the community from abuse and neglect and to provide its citizens with information concerning responsible ownership. Our Goals and Objectives To provide services which aid in containing free-roaming animals to prevent human injuries and the spread of zoonotic diseases. To provide services which help prevent animals from becoming nuisances to the community or a burden to its citizens. To provide a physical facility which will house lost, unwanted and neglected animals in a humane manner. To provide health care services to those animals housed to prevent suffering. To provide comprehensive and responsible adoption counseling and services. To provide unwanted, sick or injured animals with humane euthanasia, according them dignity and respect during that act. To strive to improve performance through education and dedication to our mission. To supply the Fiscal Court with accurate information upon which to base decisions for service level and expansion. To create public information and education programs which will assist the members of this community in becoming more responsible pet owners.

We are a Non profit rescue that takes in small animals. There are hardly any small animal rescues in are area We rescue Dumped, pregnant, and animals that need new homes. We provide an outlet for a growing need of animals that are being over bred do to bunnies being a source of income for breeders and those that raise for meat/pets

Our mission is Our mission is to rescue and care for stray and homeless animals while providing humane education to the community. We work with members of the community to help cats in need. We conduct trap/neuter/return and place projects and train home and business owners on how to properly care for free roaming cats on their property and in their neighborhoods. We focus in southern Dutchess County, but help people throughout Dutchess, Putnam and Orange counties by connecting them with local rescues that can work with them, loaning equipment, coordinating spay/neuter clinics and offering guidance.

We are a 100% volunteer rescue with over 25 years of experience. There are so many boxer and boxer mixes dying in shelters every day, we are trying to help reduce the count of those dying by getting them healthy and matching them up with the right family.

Ghost Town Dog Rescue is a caring team of people dedicated to providing the love and care to dogs in need and placing them in loving furever homes

We are a 501c3 Non-Profit organization comprised of all volunteers working together to network K9's and their puppies. Our program dogs are selected as K9's in Urgent need of a "Second Chance". We also provide several Spay/Neuter buses throughout the year. These buses provide the community with low cost affordable spay and neuters which better enables them to give their pet proper care and help extend their life spans. Buses also help control the local pet population.

Clear Creek Cat Rescue is dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and rehoming stray, injured, homeless and feral cats in Alaska. Our rescue fills an unmet need in Alaska to take in the neediest of kitties including those that need extensive medical attention and medical and/or behavioral rehabilitation.
