We formed out of the necessity to help animals at the city shelter become adopted. We have saved over 50 dogs/puppies from being euthanized in the short time since we formed the organization. We hope to work with the city to eventually get them to offer some sort of low cost spay/neuter program so that we can make a difference in the alarming overpopulation of pets here in Junction, Tx.

Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit (IRS Tax ID# 58-0685900) and one of the oldest private charitable organizations in Atlanta, founded in 1873 as a result of an earlier visit to the city by Robert E. Lee. The animal charity was originally chartered to protect women, children, and animals and remained a child protection and animal welfare society for 79 years. AHS, now a widely recognized pet adoption center, vet center, and educational program provider, was originally located on Marietta Street and moved to its present location at 981 Howell Mill Road in the 1930s. The Alpharetta campus at 1565 Mansell Road was opened in 2011. Atlanta Humane Society serves about 25,000 animals each year, and places approximately 8,000 dogs and cats into forever homes. AHS is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for the animals once they are in our care. We only humanely euthanize those animals suffering from significant medical issues or that pose behavior concerns. We are proud to be a part of the solution to ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in the southeastern United States.

I work full time as an endangered species biologist for a private consulting firm, but my husband and I operate the Rescue out of our home. Several years ago, my professional life put me in touch with the herpetologist for our state natural resource regulatory agency, and we began discussing how rehabbers, zoos and rescues were overrun with tortoises and there was more need than could be addressed. I began CTTR from that conversation, and in just 18 months 18 months we have assisted over 100 animals, launched successful fundraising campaigns, and been awarded two facility improvement/disaster prevention/expansion grants.

Champaign Area Trap Spay Neuter and Adoption Program

1713 South State Suite 104
IL
61820
Established in 2005, CATsNAP is a non-profit, volunteer based group that seeks to reduce pet overpopulation and to improve the welfare of animals in the greater Champaign County Illinois area. We strongly advocate that animals are spayed or neutered regardless of breed, sex or age. Our program offers spay and neuter assistance and basic veterinary treatment - including flea and parasite treatment and routine vaccinations - to needy or unowned animals. We also provide humane education to community and civic groups on the care of animals and the importance of spaying/neutering in population control. We have a limited intake, no-kill adoption program. Most animals are transferred from municipal animal control facilities. All animals are in foster homes or at an off-site adoption partner site. Animals are never euthanized for space. At CATsNAP, our goal is to promote successful pet ownership and place animals in a loving, pet friendly home.

http://tricountyhumanesociety.org/about-us/about-tchs I am the executive director and have had that role since 1984. We've come a long way since then and technology is just one of the tools we've used to get where we are today. I've stayed in this position this because when I started it was so bad, I was inspired to make things better. There had to be ways to reduce the euthanasia rate. Our current ytd placement rate is 95.6%!

The Brittany Foundation Animal Sanctuary

CA
93510
The Brittany Foundation is a public charity which rescues, rehabilitates, rehomes and provides safe shelter for homeless dogs. Our rescue efforts focus on dogs which no one else might adopt from "kill" shelters, such as geriatric, disabled, severe neglect dogs. We also rescue puppy mill victims, strays and dogs from foreclosure and hospice situations. In addition to being a rescue, we are also a sanctuary for those dogs who might never be adopted. We care for them for life.

The Humane Society of Harrison County is a non-profit organization, and a separate entity from the Harrison County Animal Control Center. It is our mission to rescue animals left at the Animal Control Center and prepare them for adoption within a loving and safe home. We are strictly a "no kill" facility. In other words, we keep our animals at our shelter until a good home is found. Destroying animals is not our solution to the overpopulation problem. For every animal that we place into a home, we rescue another from Animal Control. We make every effort to select the healthiest and most compatible friends for our clients. It is a difficult choice, but one that is necessary. It is our dream to be able to save and house all the animals before they are euthanized at the Animal Control Center. It may seem like an impossible mission, but it is our goal.

We were started about three years ago. We are strictly foster/adoption because do not have a building. About 2 years ago we started a TNR program. We work closely with the local vet clinic where our animals are checked and medical needs taken care of. We also house our animals there if a foster cannot be found. Why do we do it? Because we love animals.

Rockers Rescue. I use to volunteer at our local animal shelter and one day decided.... I could do that. I needed to help the animals in the back at risk of euthanasia. I knew it would be a LOT of work to run a rescue but my plan was to take it step by step and life by life. We began growing. When you start slow and do things right you accomplish more in the end. We go to our local animal shelters that are over flowing. The kill rates are high at Shreveport's shelter. We are trying to help make a change. We take in dogs that would be euthanized for space. We've done ones needing eyes removed, ran over, mange, heartworms (very common in this state), elderly, skinny. You name it. We look for the one that matches our fosters needs and we find the right fit. If we have the donations lined up...we take them immediately to our vet for the works. We do not cut corners...we don't wait. We make sure we have the donations on hand so these babies get ALL the care they need ASAP. We also do cats and kittens. We usually take in the very young or sick mothers. I find what my fosters can handle and we work together. We get the animals recuperated and then place them up for adoption looking for a home to love them as we do. ---- I do this because I love it. I use to have bad anxiety and volunteering at the shelter helped calm me. I found I could function and go places again! This is what God intended me to do. We help the helpless. We turn lives around. It is such a blessing.

We Provide clean, healthy, and loving environments, food, shelter, and temporary housing in foster homes for abused, stray, orphaned or abandoned kittens until their adoptions. We promote public health and safety by encouraging vaccinations, including rabies. We educate the community about animal welfare issues. We find homes for cats and kittens in order to reduce the need for euthanasia. We promote the spay and neuter of all cats and kittens everywhere. We started our rescue because 1 out of every 12 cats born never finds a permanent home, and hundreds of cats are euthanized every hour in the US because there aren't enough homes. We are making a difference where we can by saving lives.

About me: I am a certified Dog trainer and have been showing dogs for 11 years now. I have a love for the sport and a passion for animals. I later on started fostering (4 years ago). With in that time I adopted out 135 dogs. 6 kittens. I was on the board for a year and the treasure for a year. I then about a year later decided it was time to do my own rescue. I wanted to save more animals with less opinions. At the end of the day IT is about saving animals. I own 2 business's currently and had the knowledge and ability to start my own. So with in the last month i have inquired all the paperwork to be legal and applied for my 501c3 (still waiting on). and i have 5-7 foster homes and 13 animals in care right now.
