Our mission is to make a difference in the pet overpopulation problem by rescuing and re-homing abandoned animals in the Simi Valley Community as well as the greater Ventura and Los Angeles County areas. In working with local animal shelters, veterinarians, and other rescue groups, we locate animals most in need of care. While in our foster care, we ensure animals are properly fed and exercised, spay/neutered, microchipped and have high quality medical attention. Animal Rescue Volunteers (ARV), Inc. is a non-profit organization that began in 1994. We are volunteers who love animals and wish to make a difference. ARV is a well respected, long-standing organization that provides this service to the Simi Valley Community as well as the larger Ventura and Los Angeles County areas. ARV has been instrumental in the adoption of over 5,000 animals since 1994. We continually provide veterinary care for rescued animals such as assistance for broken jaws, hip and leg fractures, and upper respiratory illnesses, cancer treatments, mange, vision impairment, infections, and heart problems while they are awaiting adoption. We even bought a pacemaker for ARV's mascot, who is no longer with us. We provide animal "well-care" such as shots and grooming. To date we have provided over $250,000 for this care.

We are a small home based hermit crab rescue out of SE Michigan and nearby area's providing shelter and new forever homes to many hermits in need. We carefully screen each person that wishes to adopt to make sure the crab(s) will be placed in the best homes possible with the correct crabitat conditions. We accept donations but are a small not for profit rescue and all of the costs to operate this rescue comes out of our own pockets. We charge a small adoption fee and include information, food and 24/7 help to those who adopt from us. All of our rescued crabs are healthy, active and transitioned into captivity and have natural shells. All crabs have molted 1-2 times before they are adopted.

We are a new rescue and humane education organization. While we will be obtaining animals from local shelters and adopting them, we will also work to keep animals in their current homes through training, behavior modification, one-time financial assistance, spay and neuter services; and provide education to pet owners, the general public, and most importantly, the next generation of animal advocates.

RBR grew out of need. We fostered for other groups for years and when more dogs needed homes and all rescues were on intake freeze we started RBR. We believe in providing the best overall care possible for small dogs and puppies. They are raised in a family environments which means our rescue will stay relatively small so each animal get the attention it needs to be a great family member for an adopter. I also am a writer and take on projects that are a good fit, also do ghost writing.

Our primary focus is surrender prevention. We do everything we can to help the family keep their pet. We also assist with rehoming, if that is the only choice, without taking ownership of the pet. We also take in pets if there is no choice and we have a foster. We have been very successful with our surrender prevention program. Our other focus is to work with the local municipal kill shelter, by offering assistance with adoptions, promoting adoptions, recruiting volunteers, offering information about programs available.

ALGBR is dedicated to educating the public on the breeds we rescue. We participate in both public and private events; educate school children and the general public. We are a non-profit* organization that is run solely on donations and all of our “employees” are unpaid volunteers. We do this because we love these wonderful creatures and we want to place as many as we can into their forever homes. Our dogs come from several sources. First and foremost from owner turn-ins, these are dogs whose owners can no longer care for them. We take the dog into our organization rather than having the dog turned over to the Humane Society or Animal Care and Control. There is great value bringing these dogs into our program. They are less likely to be exposed to disease or suffer mental stress by moving from a home situation to a smaller program such as ours. The transition for the dog to the new home is much easier. Owner turn-ins also allow us to have a more complete history of the dog. We participate in the Maricopa County Animal Care & Control New Hope Program. The program allows us to intake dogs that are slated to be euthanized, often for no other reason than a lack of space. In addition, we work with other rescue groups who may not have room for a specific dog. Once we intake a dog it usually will spend time in a foster home. Our foster homes are all volunteers that care for their foster dogs as if they were their own. This includes working on housebreaking, basic training, grooming and medical care. All dogs available for adoption have had a basic veterinary checkup, have current vaccinations and a micro chip.

To help any Yorkie cross with Yorkshire Terrier that finds itself homeless. Our dedicated group of volunteers will do whatever is necessary to make sure all Yorkies in need will feel safe, healthy and loved until they are placed in a flawless forever home. In addition to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Yorkies, we work with our communities in order to stress the importance of adopting a Yorkie in the hope of one day eliminating all puppy mills
